1982: Origin of the Galt Kiltie Band Flag

Where the Kiltie Flag Came From

Thought you might want to know how our Kiltie flag came to be.

In the autumn of 1981, Neil Harvie designed our official Kiltie Band logo. This logo is a "take off" on the Band's Glengarry Badge. Bob Fox was voted permission to have two flags made. The color scheme, designed by Bette and Bob Fox was officially approved on April 14,1982. Bob obtained two blank flags from Muir Cap and Regalia and took them to Steve Soule in Guelph. The logo plus the words were silk-screened on the flags(color scheme hand painted) by Steve and his wife Debbie. The flags were completed in May of 1982. A lasting memento to our band.
